5S is simple, right? On the surface, the 5S process in a lean transformation is like cleaning out your garage every spring. You get rid of everything you don’t need, brush out the cobwebs, and maybe even give it a fresh coat of paint. Then, you put everything back where it belongs. You’ve just completed the first three S’s: Sort, Shine and Set in order. Now pull out that newly accessible lawn chair, grab a cold one and bask in a sense of accomplishment. You’re done!
